Hideki Matsui became the first ever player to hit a combined 500 home runs between the Major Leagues and Nippon Professional Baseball when he hit a solo shot in Detroit for the Athletics on Wednesday. The milestone was a welcomed sight for both A's fans and the star's followers back home because Matsui had been stuck on 499 career home runs since June 16th.
